BPM Skills in 2019 – Hot or Not

BPM Skills in 2019 – Hot or Not

Chances are you have big plans for this year. But how to make those plans turn into reality?

Even brightest idea does not transform into results without:

a) Good old-fashioned hard work

b) Knowledge what to do and how to do it.

I cannot help you with point a, but for point b… 🙂

As in previous years I prepared for you answers from experts about hot skills for process/automation professionals.

Process automation – workflow, RPA, and beyond

Process automation – workflow, RPA, and beyond

Are you interested in process automation?

If so, I may have 2 interesting things for you.

1) I recently published the first version of a course “Process automation – workflow, RPA, and beyond” on Udemy and want to share it with my readers.

This is an early version of a course with content mostly covering workflow/BPMS tools. I will be adding more videos about RPA and other tools soon, but to decide what to focus on I would like to hear feedback from people with an early adopter attitude 🙂

If this sounds interesting use the link below to join the course for free:
and tell me what should I add!

I hope you will find the course useful.

Link is valid until November 11th.

UPDATE: since many of you joined I thought it would be cool to extend the free access till Thanksgiving. This is my way of saying “Thanks” for being my reader 🙂

UPDATE2: You can join the course for a lowest Udemy price (9,99 USD) using this link: https://www.udemy.com/process-automation-workflow-rpa-and-beyond/?couponCode=BPMTIPS

2) Do you want to learn more about various aspects of intelligent automation from the leading companies? AI EMEA Live online summit is currently running. You can still register to get access to all recordings on:

How many RPA tools are there on the market now?

How many RPA tools are there on the market now?

Last year I published a guide about RPA with best practices from 30+ BPM and Robotic Process Automation experts.

Since it proved to be very popular I thought you may enjoy some updates and extensions.

First extension is about the RPA tools available on the market. That’s because when you decide that you want to give RPA a try, next frequent step is to select few tools for further analysis.

Basics of BPMN

BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is a de-facto standard for modeling detailed processes for documentation and automation purposes.

1) What starts the process
2) What are the results of a process
3) What needs to be done
4) What are the possible variants
5) Who does what

How Can BPM and Customer Journey Mapping be Used Together?

How Can BPM and Customer Journey Mapping be Used Together?

Customer Journey Mapping is getting more and more visibility. Vendors are adding support for this kind of modeling to their tools. Companies start CJM projects as parts of larger Customer Experience initiatives.

This article (originally published on BPTrends) shows relations between process modelling and customer journey mapping.

BPM Skills in 2018 – Hot or Not

As you will see I kept the basic structure used in 2016 and 2017 version of this post, but to make it more actionable added a question about the best resources to learn the hot BPM skills.

Plus – this time I have something extra 🙂

BPM for executives

Recently I had a chance to discuss the topic of process management with a CFO of a large company implementing BPM and it made me think how to talk about the benefits of process approach with the top executives.

Those are busy people who don’t have the time to read long and detailed books about BPM. Usually, low-level technical topics or nuanced discussions are not valuable for them as they need a quick overview of the topic (whether it is process-based management or the process automation) plus compelling reason to make a decision.

So I thought that if you are also preparing for a talk with a C-level executive you may find those resources useful (as they were for me):
